Sigma Chi

Threats to Sigma Chi's single-sex status, our brothers' due process, and freedom of association rights continue to rise across the U.S., even after our big win against Harvard University.

Unfortunately, many campuses continue to impose unfair restrictions on fraternities and sororities that are not applied to other student groups, including recruitment timeframes, membership criteria, and judicial processes.

But as you know, the Sigma Chi experience matters, and it provides life-changing value. In fact, research indicates that fraternities like ours can foster profound and meaningful connections among men, leading to a robust sense of belonging and stronger mental health.

We must protect that experience so that it’s available for our current brothers and generations of men yet to come.

Fortunately for Sigma Chi and the interfraternal community, the Fraternity & Sorority PAC can help in that effort.

Whether it's meeting with first-time candidates one day or speaking to members of Congress at their fundraising events the next, FSPAC and its leaders tirelessly promote the interfraternal experience to those who may be unfamiliar with it and reminding those who are fraternity and sorority alumni about the value their organizations provide. During these interactions, FSPAC educates potential and current legislators on critical issues affecting Sigma Chi and the interfraternal community, such as

  • Protecting our single-sex status and freedom of association rights
  • Reducing/eliminating hazing
  • Providing safe and affordable Greek housing

When you and other brothers support the FSPAC, donations get pooled together to support federal candidates who, regardless of political affiliation, understand the specific needs, interests, and concerns of fraternity and sorority members and organizations. By utilizing these resources, FSPAC helps elect lawmakers who can champion our issues and advocate for important legislation like the Collegiate Freedom of Association Act, END ALL Hazing Act, REACH Act, and the Collegiate Housing & Infrastructure Act.

It's important to remember that congressional action is the only way to fully protect our freedom of association rights and ensure our undergraduate brothers have a supportive home in their college communities, where they can belong and thrive.

By making a personal investment in FSPAC through a donation of any amount, you have the power to help safeguard the Sigma Chi experience and create a brighter future for our youngest brothers, free from unfair penalties and restrictions.

Together, we can work towards making this vision a reality.
